organized orgasms ist eine Ausstellung, die verschiedene Aspekte von Sexualität durch den Blickwinkel einer jungen Generation von Künstler*innen betrachtet. So wird die Ausstellung zur Plattform für neue Positionen und die Auseinandersetzung mit einem gesamtgesellschaftlich relevanten Thema: Geschlechtliche und sexuelle Identitätsfindung im digitalen Zeitalter. Im Allgemeinen erleben wir einen Kulturwandel hin zu einer Sensibilisierung für Fragen von Geschlecht und Sexualität. Immer wieder werden diese Themen in den einschlägigen Medien aber banalisiert und populistisch verallgemeinert dargestellt. Das Potenzial dieser Plattform ist die Unmittelbarkeit der künstlerischen Arbeiten, Filme und Auftritte zu nutzen und den Besucher*Innen selbstkritisch, fragend und humorvoll zu begegnen.
Um sich den unterschiedlichen Aspekten ehrlich zu nähern, will organized orgasms Ambivalentes nebeneinander existieren lassen und keine Fragen beantworten, sondern weitere stellen.

The course „Feminism and Contemporary Art“ provides an interesting introduction to feminism and contemporary art.
The course will be taught by Katy Deepwell with guest lectures from other staff at Middlesex University and elsewhere.
About the course
This course will discuss how feminist theory has developed in relation to contemporary art practices. The emphasis will be on trans-national and trans-generational discourses in feminist theory in relation to concepts of a ‘global contemporary’, looking back at developments in art during the last 50 years and looking forward to new models of research in the field.
